Curriculum
Curriculum Design
Here are some examples of the curriculum that I have designed in the past. Click on the samples to explore.
Let's Play Some Games!
Income & Expense Game: This is a math card game to help K-5th graders understand the concept of income and expense. It includes a card deck with rules. A player draws a card and has to decide if it is considered an income or an expense. If income they collect money, if an expense, they must pay.
The Grocery Game: This card game teaches budgeting and menu planning for K- 5 graders. Players use play money to create a breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a budget of $10.
Empathy vs. Sympathy: This is a card deck that is used after students are introduced to the concepts of empathy and sympathy. They are then divided into teams and a card is drawn and the first team member to answer correctly wins a point.
My SEL Map
This is the map that I use to create my SEL curriculum. I start with emotions, focus on that pie slice, and move clockwise. I hit on responsible decision-making as we move through the curriculum. This map has worked well with K-5th graders and 14-22-year-olds.
